Mayo Medical Laboratories
In 2009, Valley West began collaboration with Mayo Medical Laboratories, a part of the Mayo Clinic, for advanced laboratory services. The association enables Valley West to have immediate access to complex tests performed by Mayo Medical Laboratories, located in Rochester, MN. Specimens taken at Valley West are transported via air to Mayo Medical Laboratories. Mayo provides pickup service from the hospital six days a week to the Chicago airports. Tests results are often available through a computer interface the following day.
In addition to testing services, Mayo Medical Laboratories pathologists and scientists in every specialty laboratory are available to consult with Valley West pathologists and medical staff doctors regarding test selection, utilization, methodologies and result interpretation.
