Cardiac RehabilitationValley West Community Hospital offers exercise, education and support for patients with known heart disease. The cardiac rehab program is medically supervised and monitored by a registered nurse, and individualized to assist the patient in reaching and maintaining an optimal state of physical, psychosocial and vocational well-being.
Patients also have access to a respiratory therapist, a pharmacist and a dietitian as needed. The team assists patients in goal setting, lifestyle modification and education. A physician’s order is necessary for each phase of the cardiac rehab program.
Valley West currently offers Level III/IV Maintenance Rehab. The primary goal of the maintenance program is to further develop and maintain cardiovascular endurance and decrease risk of future heart disease with a supervised exercise and educational program. Any patient with any kind of cardiac diagnosis is eligible for Phase III/IV.
