The VWCH Cardiac Rehabilitation program is located in the main building off of Pleasant Avenue, with reserved parking at the door. It brings our area patients closer to home for levels III and IV of cardiac rehab following bypass surgery.

Supervised and monitored by an experienced cardiac nurse, patients develop and maintain cardiovascular endurance while working on muscular strength and flexibility. Participation in this program aids patients in returning to their optimal state of physical, psychological and vocational well-being. To talk to our cardiac rehab nurse, call (815) 786-3691.

Cardiac stress testing, echocardiography, electrocardiography, pulmonary function testing and Holter monitoring are diagnostic tests that aid the team in treating adults and children.

Trained respiratory therapists also provide care for ventilator patients and bedside oxygen therapy. Recently improved blood chemistry and echocardiography services greatly enhance the cardiac services here.

Dr. Vijay Shah, Dr. Brian Akrami and Dr. Jaweed Sayeed of Fox Valley Cardiovascular Consultants see patients on an outpatient basis in the VWCH Clinic for cardiac stress testing and other consultations several days a week at the VWCH Specialty Clinic.

Dr. TianChu Shih sees patients needing cardiovascular care in her Sandwich office at 11 E. Pleasant Ave., where her full-time practice is located.

Dr. Jagdish Patel has moved his full-time cardiology practice to the Aishling Medical Complex in Sandwich.
